Scout Coffee is looking for a Production Baker to join our in-house bakery team. This role focuses on preparing and baking a variety of pastries and baked goods that are served across our café locations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative kitchen team.

At Scout, all of our baked goods are made in-house. Our bakery produces pastries, cookies, quick breads, laminated doughs, and seasonal items daily to support our cafés in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.

Position Details

• Shift Start: 6AM/7:30 AM
• Hours: Full-time
• Location: Morro Bay, CA
• Schedule: Weekdays and weekends may be required
• Compensation: $19 + tips

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries and baked goods following Scout recipes and standards
• Execute daily production lists efficiently to support café needs
• Assist with dough preparation, shaping, baking, and finishing pastries
• Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all products
• Accurately scale and measure ingredients
• Assist with packaging and organizing products for café distribution
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
• Follow all health department and food safety standards
• Communicate clearly with the bakery team to ensure smooth production flow

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable transportation and punctuality

Preferred (but not required)

• Previous bakery or kitchen experience
• Experience with pastry or production baking
• Culinary or baking school background

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
