Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator generates the schedule for all of production and works to ensure that the generated schedule is met and communicated promptly and properly to the engineers, team supervisors, team leads, purchasing department, logistics department, and the plant manager. Tracking each job through production, being able to problem solve, and communication are the three biggest aspects of this position.

Job Duties:

• Assist in data collection to determine staffing needs based on production schedules.
• Adjust schedules in coordination with the Operations Manager to address delays, setbacks, or accelerated work timelines.
• Prioritize work with input from the Supervisor.
• Co-lead team meetings, such as GANTT chart reviews.
• Communicate schedule changes clearly and concisely across departments and with external partners.
• Complete projects from start to finish with guidance from the Operations Director.
• Add units to GANTT charts with approval from the Operations Director.
• Coordinate daily with team leads, supervisors, engineers, logistics, and purchasing.
• Focus on daily/short-term scheduling visibility; limited forecasting responsibilities.
• Track job progress and provide simple status updates in Excel (typically covering 2–4 week timelines).
• Support capacity checks by reporting daily floor output.
• Participate in small improvement initiatives while following established processes.
• Respond promptly to internal production needs.
• Adhere to quality standards and strive for excellence in deliverables.
• Maintain a learning mindset, actively seeking opportunities for growth.
• Communicate ideas professionally and process information in a timely manner to relay to leadership or team members.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a related role.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
• Basic ERP Knowledge
• Detail oriented
• Strong follow-up skills
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Fast learner
• Prior experience with production planning or parts preferred
• Minimum of Associate’s Degree preferred
