Job Overview:
The Production Engineer will lead and support the implementation, integration, and sustainment of the ForeSite - Legacy platform and associated petroleum engineering workflows across a variety of field types and artificial lift systems. The role involves technical leadership in production optimization, digital workflow design, exception-based surveillance, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure successful adoption and performance of the digital oil field ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
ForeSite Platform Implementation & Optimization
- Lead deployment and configuration of ForeSite modules for various artificial lift types (SRP, PCP, ESP, Gas Lift).
- Oversee integration with SCADA, data historians, and field instrumentation systems.
- Customize digital workflows to support well monitoring, alarm management, model updates, well test validation, and optimization strategies.
- Validate data quality and model alignment, ensuring digital outputs reflect operational and engineering realities.
Production Engineering & Optimization
- Analyze well performance and identify optimization opportunities based on exception-based events and ForeSite insights.
- Support field teams in diagnosing lift system performance issues and recommending optimization actions.
- Contribute to the development and calibration of well models, surface network models, and optimization scenarios.
- Collaborate with operations, field development, and reservoir teams to align surveillance and intervention priorities.
Workflow Design & Technical Enablement
- Lead the design and deployment of end-to-end digital workflows (e.g., well test validation, downtime categorization, steam allocation, CIW follow-up).
- Develop and document technical procedures, SOPs, and user guides for ForeSite users.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and structured training sessions to client engineers and field users.
Project Management Support & Reporting
- Contribute to project planning, milestone tracking, and stakeholder engagement during system rollouts.
- Monitor well connectivity, data availability, and system uptime; coordinate actions for hardware or software issues.
- Prepare technical reports, success stories, and justifications for system expansion, enhancements, or maintenance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering.
- Minimum 5yrs of experience in production engineering and artificial lift optimization.
- Experience with ForeSite platform or similar production optimization tools.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, and exception-based surveillance.
- Strong communication, documentation, and technical mentoring capabilities.
- Proficiency in production data analysis tools (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI) is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multi-lift environments and varying field conditions (onshore/offshore, conventional/unconventional).
- Knowledge of surface network modeling, real-time optimization, and integration with business intelligence tools.
- Experience in coordinating across multidisciplinary teams (operations, reservoir, IT, vendors).
