Production Head - Stitching

Job Summary

The Production Head – Stitching Department will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling stitching operations to ensure timely production, quality compliance, and cost efficiency. The role requires strong leadership, process optimization skills, and the ability to manage high-mix, fast-turnaround production typical of e-commerce garment operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Control

ü Plan daily, weekly, and monthly stitching production as per order requirements and delivery timelines

ü Allocate manpower, machines, and operations efficiently to meet production targets

ü Monitor line balancing, productivity, and workflow to minimize bottlenecks

ü Ensure adherence to production schedules, especially for short lead-time e-commerce orders

Quality & Compliance

ü Ensure stitching quality meets company standards and buyer specifications

ü Coordinate with QA/QC teams to reduce alterations, rework, and rejection rates

ü Implement SOPs, quality checkpoints, and continuous improvement practices

ü Ensure compliance with safety, labor, and ethical manufacturing standards

Team Management

ü Lead, train, and motivate supervisors, line leaders, and stitching operators

ü Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs

ü Maintain discipline, attendance, and positive shop-floor culture

Cost & Efficiency Management

ü Monitor and control production costs, efficiency, and wastage

ü Improve productivity through method improvements and skill development

ü Support initiatives for lean manufacturing and process optimization

Coordination & Reporting

ü Coordinate with Merchandising, Cutting, Finishing, and Warehouse teams

ü Provide daily and weekly production reports to management

ü Escalate issues related to capacity, quality, or delivery risks proactively

Key Skills & Competencies

ü Strong knowledge of stitching operations, machines, and garment construction

ü Experience in handling bulk and fast-fashion / e-commerce production

ü Leadership and people management skills

ü Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

ü Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

ü Knowledge of line balancing, SMV, productivity tracking, and efficiency metrics

Educational Qualification

ü Diploma / Degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, or related field

ü Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
