Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Control
- Plan, organize, and control daily production activities across extrusion, casting, anodizing, and powder coating departments.
- Ensure achievement of production targets in terms of quantity, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with Sales and Planning departments for production scheduling.
Casting Department Supervision
- Monitor melting, alloying, degassing, filtration, and billet casting processes.
- Ensure chemical composition meets customer and international standards.
- Control metal recovery and reduce melting losses.
Die Shop Department Management
- Oversee die design, correction, maintenance, and polishing activities.
- Ensure proper die trials before mass production.
- Monitor die life cycle and maintain die history records.
- Minimize die breakdowns and production delays.
- Control die inventory and ensure proper storage.
- Coordinate closely with extrusion team for profile quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Reduce die-related rejection and rework.
- Supervise nitriding and heat treatment of dies.
- Ensure proper die correction procedures to maintain profile tolerances.
Extrusion Operations (5” & 7” Aluminium Extrusion Press)
- Oversee billet heating, die management, press operations, and handling systems.
- Monitor press parameters such as temperature control, pressure, speed, and productivity.
- Ensure optimum recovery rate and minimize scrap.
- Improve press efficiency and reduce downtime.
Anodizing Department Management
- Supervise surface preparation, etching, anodizing, coloring, sealing processes.
- Maintain bath chemistry, voltage control, and thickness standards.
- Ensure consistent coating thickness and finishing quality.
Powder Coating Department Management
- Oversee pretreatment, drying, powder application, curing oven parameters.
- Ensure proper film thickness, adhesion, gloss level, and finish quality.
- Monitor powder consumption and reduce wastage.
Quality & Process Control
- Implement strict quality control procedures at every stage.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and industry standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team to resolve quality issues.
- Analyze rejection rates and implement corrective actions.
Maintenance Department Coordination & Control
- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance planning.
- Ensure proper maintenance of:
- Extrusion presses (5” & 7”)
- Casting furnaces & cooling systems
- Die shop machines (lathe, EDM, CNC, polishing units)
- Anodizing tanks & rectifiers
- Powder coating line & curing ovens
- Air compressors, DG sets, utilities
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules (Daily/Weekly/Monthly).
- Reduce machine downtime and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Maintain spare parts inventory control.
- Analyze root cause of recurring breakdowns.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance Manager for continuous improvement.
Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency
- Coordinate with maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance of:
- Extrusion presses
- Casting furnaces
- Anodizing tanks
- Powder coating lines
- Minimize machine downtime and breakdowns.
Manpower & Leadership
- Lead and manage supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Conduct performance monitoring and training programs.
- Ensure discipline, safety, and compliance with company policies.
Cost Control & Productivity Improvement
- Monitor production costs and suggest cost-reduction strategies.
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
- Implement lean manufacturing practices.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure safe working conditions in all departments.
- Enforce PPE usage and industrial safety standards.
- Monitor waste disposal and environmental compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8–15 years of experience in Aluminium Extrusion Industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role handling full plant operations.
