Position Summary

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations of the gelatin production facility. The role requires strong technical leadership, operational discipline, and cross-department coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production aligned with company targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Operations Management

• Lead all manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
• Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
• Coordinate shutdowns and maintenance planning with the engineering team.
• Control consumption of raw materials, chemicals, utilities, and energy.
• Monitor production KPIs and submit performance reports to management.
• Manage production budget, cost control, and efficiency optimization.
• Support trials, new product development, and process validation activities.

2. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify bottlenecks and implement productivity improvement initiatives.
• Drive cost-reduction projects and yield improvement programs.
• Participate in automation and digitalization initiatives.
• Provide technical input for plant upgrades and capital investment projects.
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and R&D teams on process enhancements.

3. Safety, Quality & Compliance (HSE & GMP)

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain batch traceability and production documentation.
• Support HACCP implementation and audits.
• Promote a safe working environment through procedures, training, and supervision.
• Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.

4. Utilities & Environmental Operations

• Supervise water treatment, effluent treatment plant (ETP), and environmental controls.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and inspection requirements.
• Optimize steam, power, and water consumption.
• Coordinate with compliance teams for regulatory reporting.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, train, and motivate supervisors and production staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and develop training plans.
• Enforce discipline, accountability, and teamwork culture.
• Coordinate with HR for recruitment and workforce planning.
• Maintain effective communication across departments.

6. Administration & Reporting

• Maintain production SOPs and operational documentation.
• Prepare monthly operational and performance reports.
• Participate in strategic planning and operational reviews.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant discipline

Experience

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in process manufacturing (gelatin, food, pharma, chemicals, or related industry)
• Experience managing large production teams in a continuous process environment

Technical Skills

• Understanding of extraction, filtration, evaporation, drying, and utilities operations preferred
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with ERP systems and production tracking tools
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
