Production Manager

Novo Health Services is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Manager to lead plant operations within our healthcare linen processing facility. This role is responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, productivity, and financial outcomes, while building and developing a high-performing team.

The Production Manager provides leadership for a team of 20–60+ full-time and temporary associates, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery to our healthcare partners. This position plays a key role in executing plant strategy, optimizing processes, and supporting the overall success and growth of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily production operations to meet volume, quality, and service expectations

  • Develop and execute plans to achieve plant productivity and performance goals

  • Monitor workflow, equipment utilization (CBWs, dryers, washer/extractors), and staffing to ensure efficiency

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and performance

  • Partner with Maintenance and Chemical teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and wash quality

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline associates to build a high-performing team

  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable to results

  • Drive engagement through effective communication, training, and development initiatives

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards

  • Lead safety initiatives, audits, and training to minimize risk and ensure compliance

  • Identify and implement safety improvements and enforce best practices across the operation

Quality & Customer Service

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality linen services aligned with healthcare standards

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction

  • Partner with leadership to address service concerns and implement corrective actions

Financial & Performance Management

  • Support and manage departmental budgets, including labor and operational costs

  • Analyze production and cost performance data to identify trends and drive improvements

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, and service levels

Administrative & Reporting

  • Oversee scheduling, staffing plans, and daily work assignments

  • Ensure accurate documentation of production, safety, attendance, and performance data

  • Prepare reports and maintain operational records to support business decisions

  • Assist in capital planning, inventory management, and resource allocation

Strategic Support

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to support overall plant strategy and execution

  • Lead or participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to long-term operational planning and scalability efforts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional education or technical training preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations, including leadership responsibilities

  • Proven experience managing teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and operational best practices

  • Experience with performance metrics and cost management

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced production environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
