Production Manager
Production Manager will oversee daily operations of the plant including production, quality control, inventory, ordering, shipping and receiving. This is a hands-on position which requires oversight and direct involvement in all areas listed above.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations and maintenance activities
- Manages scheduling and timing of production
- Increase production, while maintaining quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Train and assist employees to create a multi-functional staff
- Identify areas of inefficiency or waste and take corrective action
- Commit to and enforce plant safety procedures
- Commit to and enforce all company policies and processes
- Ensure that products are built to company’s quality control standards
- Ensure parts inventory is properly maintained and organized
- Coordinate directly with vendors
- Oversee employees – assign work to employees, ensure employee productivity and compliance with all company policies/procedures
- Solve problems as they occur on the shop floor
- Ensure that company housekeeping standards are maintained
- Perform other essential functions as assigned
- Maintain and repair machines as needed
Skills:
The ideal candidate will have excellent management skills, problem solving skills, strong organization skills, strong oral communication skills and leadership skills. Must have the ability to multi-task and function efficiently under pressure. Must possess knowledge of operations, production/manufacturing, quality control, and inventory control. Must have general computer knowledge. Must be a team player and a leader. Experience with metal fabrication and design is a plus.
- Proven working experience as a manager
- Adequate knowledge of management principles
- Adequate knowledge of production/manufacturing operations
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, production, and inventory processes
- Computer literacy - Microsoft office (word, outlook, excel)
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills
- Demonstrate a strong commitment toward results – execution, attention to details
- Strong sense of initiative
- Ability to lead, and work as a team player
- Ability to schedule work assignment to maximize production efficiency
- Ability to teach/train employees
- Strong problem solving skills - Ability to identify problems, develop solutions to problems, and implement corrective action
- Ability to follow, implement, and enforce company policies and processes
- Metal fabrication and design experience a plus
- Bilingual English and Spanish required
