Role Overview

A Production Officer works in manufacturing or production environments and helps ensure that products are made efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. Below are the typical duties and key responsibilities for a Production Officer role:

Key Responsibilities Follow-Up

  • 1. Production Planning & Execution
  • Plan and supervise daily production activities for extruded and fried snack lines.

2. Machine Operation & Process Control

  • Monitor operation of extruders, fryers, seasoning drums, and packaging machines.
  • Ensure correct temperature, pressure, frying time, and seasoning levels during production.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine or process issues to minimize downtime.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure products meet quality specifications, taste, texture, color, and shape standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks for raw materials and finished products.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved according to the production schedule.
  • Coordinate with the production manager to optimize production efficiency.

4. Raw Material & Inventory Management

  • Monitor availability and proper use of corn grits, potato starch, flour, oil, seasonings, and packaging materials.
  • Minimize material waste and control production losses.

5. Team Supervision

  • Supervise production operators and line workers.
  • Assign duties and ensure staff follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Train workers on machine operation and safety practices.

6. Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, and hygiene requirements).
  • Maintain cleanliness in production and processing areas.

7. Equipment Maintenance

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance of extruders, fryers, conveyors, and packaging machines.
  • Report equipment faults immediately.

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily production reports, machine logs, and quality records.
  • Track production output, downtime, and wastage.

9. Process Improvement

  • Suggest improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Fluent in english
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial field
  • Experience in manufacturing and production environment
  • Knowledge of production planning and quality control
  • Good leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of extrusion and frying snack production processes
  • Understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP)
  • Strong team supervision and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle production machinery and troubleshooting
