Joinery Engineering Coordinator

The Joinery Factory Engineering Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all engineering-related activities, including material and shop drawing submittals and approvals, distributing production tasks, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. The role involves working closely with the engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure project milestones are met, documentation is maintained, and all engineering processes are followed. The coordinator also supports project managers with various administrative and technical tasks and assists in maintaining ISO compliance throughout the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Material Submittal & Approval:

- Prepare and submit material submittals for client or consultant approval, ensuring materials meet project requirements.

- Track the approval process and follow up to ensure timely responses from clients or consultants.

- Liaise with suppliers to secure samples and ensure they meet project specifications.

· Shop Drawing Submittal & Approval:

- Coordinate the submission of shop drawings for approval by clients, consultants, or relevant stakeholders.

- Ensure that all submitted drawings are accurate, meet project specifications, and are approved before production.

- Track and document the approval process and communicate updates to the production team.

· Production Task Distribution:

- Work closely with the production manager to distribute production tasks to relevant departments based on approved drawings and materials.

- Ensure that each department is aligned with project timelines and work schedules.

- Monitor production progress and provide updates to ensure tasks are completed on time.

· Supplier Coordination for Samples:

- Follow up with suppliers to request, receive, and evaluate samples according to project requirements.

- Ensure timely delivery of samples and communicate their status to the engineering and procurement teams.

- Coordinate with the design or quality control teams to review and approve samples.

· Project Handing Over Documentation:

- Prepare all necessary documents required for the handover of completed projects, including as-built drawings, manuals, and material documentation.

- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, organized, and in compliance with project requirements.

· ISO Documentation & Compliance:

- Maintain project files (hard and soft copies) in compliance with ISO standards.

- Complete all documentation required for ISO audits and produce information requested by the ISO coordinator.

- Support the ISO specialist with any documentation related to the operations department.

- Update records and ensure that documentation is correctly stored and maintained in the system according to ISO guidelines.

· Coordination with Procurement Department:

- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered as per project requirements.

- Assist the procurement team with any engineering-related clarifications or documentation.

· Support to Project Manager:

- Assist the project manager with the submission of RFIs, technical queries, or any other project-related documentation.

- Provide administrative and technical support to ensure that all required documents are submitted and tracked properly.

· Documentation & System Updates:

- Keep records of all project-related documents updated in the system.

- Ensure the system reflects the most recent approvals, submittals, and task distribution.

- Generate reports and provide updates to management as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of joinery materials, production processes, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with material and shop drawing submittal processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards and documentation processes.
  • Proficiency in project management and documentation software.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).

· 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within joinery, woodworking, or manufacturing environments.

· Experience with ISO standards and documentation management.

Working Conditions:

Factory-based role with frequent collaboration with engineering, procurement, and production teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED7,000.00 per month
