Job Title: Production Planner

Job Purpose
To support the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling daily production activities. The role ensures efficient production scheduling, proper raw material planning, and smooth workflow while acting as the second-in-command for the production department when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning
- Prepare detailed daily and weekly production plans based on sales orders, Orders loading priorities, and Production & Plant capacity.
- Ensure optimal utilization of machines, manpower, and production time.
- Coordinate with Sales and Supply Chain to align production with delivery schedules.
- Monitor plan vs. actual production and adjust schedules when needed.
2. Raw Material & Inventory Coordination
- Monitor raw material and packaging material stock levels required for production.
- Coordinate with the Supply chain to ensure timely packing material availability.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Team to ensure timely raw material availability.
- Support in reducing material shortages, overstocking, and production delays.
3. Production Operations Support
- Assist the Production Manager in supervising daily shop-floor activities.
- Follow up on production progress and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Support implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Help ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
4. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare and share weekly production plans with management.
- Track key production KPIs such as output, downtime, efficiency, and overtime.
- Provide accurate updates on expected finished goods (FG) readiness dates for each order.
5. Backup for Production Manager
- Act as the Production Manager’s backup during leave or absence.
- Take responsibility for production planning, coordination, and reporting to management when required.
- Ensure continuity of operations without disruption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification or training in Production Planning (recommended).
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or a similar role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is highly preferred.
