Production Supervisor

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee the in-house workshop and support the execution of custom builds, stage sets, event props, signage, and structures for live events. This role bridges the gap between creative event design and practical, on-site implementation, ensuring all elements are produced on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop & Production Management

* Supervise daily operations of the in-house workshop (woodworking, metalwork, paint, fabrication, etc.).

* Ensure the timely production of event materials, structures, props, and sets.

* Maintain equipment and tools in good working order.

* Oversee inventory of materials and order supplies as needed.

Team Leadership

* Manage and coordinate a team of carpenters, fabricators, painters, and freelancers.

* Allocate tasks based on project timelines and staff strengths.

* Monitor quality control and safety standards in the workshop.

Project Coordination

* Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and design specs from the design team.

* Liaise with event producers, project managers, and creative leads to align workshop output with event requirements.

* Track production timelines and communicate progress updates regularly.

On-Site Supervision (as needed)

* Oversee transportation, load-in/load-out, and on-site installation when required.

* Troubleshoot and resolve issues during event setups.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Proven experience (3–5+ years) in production supervision, fabrication, or event set building.

* Strong knowledge of materials (wood, metal, plastics, etc.) and production techniques.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

* Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills.

* Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.

* Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.

* Forklift, rigging, or heavy machinery certifications (a plus).

* Experience in live events, exhibitions, theater, or experiential marketing environments.

Bonus Skills (Optional but Valuable)

* AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling experience.

* Experience with CNC machines, laser cutting, or large format printing.

* Familiarity with scenic painting or finishing techniques.

Work Environment:

* Based in the workshop with occasional travel to event venues.

* Fast-paced, deadline-driven projects with varied workloads depending on event season.
