Job Title: Production Support Engineer

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Extendable)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join our team on a 12-month extendable contract based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will provide expert support for production systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You will work with cross-functional teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in live environments, contributing to system stability, application performance, and incident management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 support for critical production systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application and system issues in real-time, using various monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar).
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve production incidents related to applications, databases, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to identify and implement preventative measures for recurring issues.
• Coordinate and support patching, upgrades, and deployments in the production environment.
• Manage escalations and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex production issues.
• Maintain and update documentation for troubleshooting, incident handling, and system procedures.
• Ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) for incident response and resolution times.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Work with application monitoring tools to ensure high availability and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in production support roles, managing large-scale applications and systems.
• Strong knowledge of incident management and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar.
• Experience with database management, including SQL and troubleshooting database-related issues.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools.
• Understanding of application deployment processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Preferred (Optional) Skills:

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related production support tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• ITIL certification or experience working in ITIL-based environments.
