Position Title: Production Lead
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports To: Operations Head
Location: Fourlines Industries L.L.C, Al Ghail Industrial Zone – NFZ, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Role Overview
The Production Lead is responsible for supervising daily shop-floor activities, ensuring that all fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing tasks are executed in line with production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of heavy fabrication (trailers, tanks, structural steel), and the ability to coordinate manpower, machines, and materials for maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Lead and oversee day-to-day production operations across welding, fitting, machining, painting, and assembly sections.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and Planning team to achieve on-time delivery.
- Monitor production targets and ensure minimum downtime of machines and manpower.
2. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Assign work to supervisors, foremen, and operators based on project schedules.
- Provide technical guidance to welding, fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical teams.
- Mentor and train shop-floor staff to improve efficiency, quality, and safety awareness.
- Act as a bridge between shop floor and management, ensuring clear communication.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all fabrication and assembly work meets ISO, ADR, UL, and other relevant standards.
- Conduct first-off inspections and ensure that QC standards are followed throughout production.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team to resolve deviations, NCRs, or rework issues.
4. Safety & Maintenance
- Enforce compliance with HSE regulations, PPE usage, and company safety policies.
- Ensure housekeeping, material storage, and workflow organization in the shop floor.
- Coordinate with Maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance of machines, cranes, and equipment.
5. Resource & Cost Control
- Monitor material consumption, scrap levels, and wastage to control costs.
- Ensure optimal use of manpower and machines to achieve productivity targets.
- Support management in reducing lead time and improving resource utilization.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly production reports (progress, manpower, material usage, machine utilization).
- Highlight risks, delays, or resource shortages to the Production Manager.
- Document shift activities, production KPIs, and maintain records for audits and certifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, machining, and trailer/tank manufacturing.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems integration.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
- Leadership skills with ability to manage a multicultural workforce.
- Problem-solving, quick decision-making, and resource management.
- Proficiency in MS Office; ERP knowledge is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in steel fabrication, trailers, or tank manufacturing.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Knowledge of international standards (ISO, ADR, UL, ASME, API) is preferred.
- Experience in UAE/GCC fabrication industry will be an added advantage.
