Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Professional Pet Sitter & Animal Care Specialist to join our team.

This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by caring for pets in their homes while working independently with the support of our office and team.

This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, proactive, and take pride in delivering thoughtful, attentive service.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide in-home pet care, including feeding, fresh water, and medication administration when needed
  • Walk dogs (active walks typically 30–60 minutes, depending on the visit and pet needs)
  • Participate in longer visits that may include a combination of walking, playtime, and in-home care
  • Monitor pets’ health and behavior and report any concerns promptly
  • Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes and bedding
  • Complete light home care tasks (mail collection, trash bins, plant watering)
  • Communicate clearly with our office and team, providing updates through our system

Animal Care Expectations

Our clients have a wide variety of pets, and many homes include multiple types of animals.

  • Sitters must be able to care for a broad range of animals as part of the core responsibilities of this role, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and other small animals, as well as livestock such as horses, chickens, and pigs, along with other animals that may be present in the home
  • We are unable to predict or limit the types of animals in each home assignment
  • Applicants should be prepared to accept assignments involving a variety of animal types as needed
  • While prior experience with all animal types is not required, a willingness to learn is essential, and training and guidance will be provided as needed to support your success

Time Management Expectations

All services are provided in clients’ homes. This role does not include overnight stays or boarding; visits are scheduled and completed within assigned timeframes.

Our visits are structured and scheduled based on client needs and may range from shorter visits to extended stays.

  • Sitters are responsible for completing all required tasks within the assigned visit time while maintaining quality care

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay on track throughout the day are required

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think ahead and anticipate needs
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with our office team and fellow sitters
  • Strong communication skills (text, call, app updates)
  • Comfortable using a smartphone and apps for scheduling, communication, and completing visit reports, including taking photos and writing clear, professional updates in a timely manner
  • Experience with pet sitting, dog walking, or animal care preferred
  • A genuine passion for animal care combined with professionalism and consistency

Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • Must have your own reliable vehicle (no shared vehicles), valid driver’s license, and active car insurance
  • Smartphone with data plan
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Comfortable walking dogs of all sizes (including 50+ lbs)
  • Able to bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift 30–40 lbs
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must live within 5 miles of the service area you are applying for which is North Hollywood

Schedule & Availability

Clients may request visit arrival times as early as 7:00 AM and as late as 8:00 PM. Our services are generally offered between 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, including early morning and evening hours.

Availability across a range of visit times—including early morning, midday, and evening—is important to support client needs. Because we are a service-based business, weekends and holidays are often some of our busiest times, so having availability during these times is an important part of supporting our clients’ needs.

We aim to work with your availability and schedule visits to fit within your routine when possible. At the same time, visit scheduling, timing, and routing are coordinated by our office based on client needs, location, and requested service windows.

Visits are scheduled throughout the day based on client needs and may begin as early as 7:00 AM, with many occurring during midday (late morning through afternoon) as well as in the evenings. Flexibility across these general timeframes is important, as we work to align sitter availability with client requests whenever possible. Scheduling is based on client demand, and visit opportunities may vary from week to week and are not guaranteed.
