Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will work with the Safe Baby Court Team (SBCT) magistrate to support Safe Baby Court activities. This position is directly responsible for monitoring the standards of practice and performance measures to ensure consistency, fidelity, and adherence to Tennessee’s Safe Baby Court Best Practice Standards. This role serves as SBC liaison between the judiciary, court partners, and providers. In this capacity, this position provides judicial support and maintains collaborative working relationships with the presiding SBC Judge, child welfare partners, and community partners to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Pay Grade: 51
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of administrative or clerical experience; AND
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in child development, social work, or related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Master's degree preferred.
5. PROOF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Serves as the point of contact for communications and response to SBC inquiries and reporting as directed, together with all monthly and annual reports for submission by the SBC in compliance with Tennessee’s SBC data and performance standards reporting requirements.
2. Ensures accurate and timely data entry of all SBC cases into Quest, Tennessee’s Juvenile Court Case Management System.
3. Coordinates and facilitates regular provider and multidisciplinary meetings of the SBC Court Team and Works with magistrate to implement recommendations of SBCT
4. Assesses community's needs for training/technical assistance to meet goals of SBCT and Coordinates with community agencies to arrange local training and technical assistance activities
5. Develops policies and procedures with SBCT to increase coordination and collaboration among participating agencies
6. Works with the magistrate and SBCT to implement the Zero to Three Model Core Components.
7. Performs other related duties assigned.
KSA'S
1. Knowledge of local community early childhood services including: early care and education, health, mental health, child welfare, early intervention
2. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
3. Knowledge of issues related to child abuse and neglect
4. Knowledge of juvenile and family service functioning
5. Capacity to work with people of diverse educational, professional, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds
6. Background in infant/early childhood development or related field
7. Experience with systems change and community collaboration
8. Ability to collect and organize data using Microsoft Excel, or a database dashboard
9. Knowledge of infant/toddler social-emotional and brain development and impact of abuse and neglect
10. Understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences
11. Experience working with juvenile and family court judges/magistrates
12. Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
13. Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
