Project Control Engineer – Job Description
Job Summary
A Project Control Engineer is responsible for
planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling project performance
to ensure completion within the approved time frame and budget. The role includes cost control, schedule management, risk analysis, and providing accurate reports to support project decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain
project schedules
using Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Prepare and update
project baselines
(schedule and cost).

Monitor actual progress versus the baseline and analyze
schedule and cost variances
.

Prepare periodic progress reports including:
-
Percentage of completion
-
Schedule deviations
-
Risk assessment
-
Corrective action plans
-
Create and update
S-curves, cash flow forecasts, and manpower histograms
.

Participate in weekly and monthly progress meetings with contractors and consultants.

Manage and track
change orders
, variations, and claims.

Support cost control activities, including cost forecasting and budget updates.

Ensure compliance with project quality and safety standards.

Provide analytical support and recommendations to enhance overall project performance.
Required Skills
Technical Skills

Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Strong knowledge of
Earned Value Management (EVM)

Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards).

Understanding of contracts, claims, and cost control principles.

Ability to generate professional reports and performance analyses.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).

of experience in project control or planning.
