About the Role – Project Director (Civil)

The Project Director – Civil is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of large-scale civil engineering projects from initiation through completion and handover. This role provides strategic leadership, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

The Project Director leads cross-functional project teams, manages contractors and stakeholders, and ensures alignment between project execution and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for civil engineering projects

Oversee full project lifecycle including planning, execution, monitoring, and handover

Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with company goals

Ensure projects meet technical, quality, environmental, and safety standards

Develop and monitor comprehensive project plans, including scheduling and cost control

Manage allocation of resources including manpower, materials, and equipment

Identify and mitigate project risks affecting timeline, cost, or quality

Oversee contractor, subcontractor, and vendor performance and contractual compliance

Control project budgets, monitor financial performance, and manage cost variances

Prepare financial forecasts and provide regular project performance reports to senior management

Lead, mentor, and evaluate project managers, engineers, and site teams

Promote a high-performance culture with strong emphasis on safety and compliance

Ensure adherence to local laws, regulations, and industry best practices

Act as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities

Maintain strong client relationships and ensure stakeholder satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Master’s degree or professional certification (PMP, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent) preferred

Minimum 10–15 years of experience in construction and civil engineering projects

Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary civil projects

Strong knowledge of UAE construction regulations and industry standards

Required Skills & Competencies

Expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and delay analysis

Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies

Risk management and problem-solving skills

Strong stakeholder and contractor management abilities

Excellent communication and reporting skills

High attention to detail and planning capability

Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, MS Office, and familiarity with BIM tools

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

Results-driven with strong accountability and ownership mindset
