Job Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer plays a key role in managing and coordinating construction activities across all project phases. With a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, the candidate is expected to lead technical planning, supervise site execution, resolve complex engineering issues, and ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate engineering and construction activities from pre-construction through to completion.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Supervise and guide junior engineers and site teams on technical execution and quality control.
- Prepare and manage work schedules, material submittals, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and performance; provide progress reports and highlight delays or risks.
- Ensure compliance with construction codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Support procurement processes by reviewing technical submittals and assisting in supplier evaluations.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site efficiently to prevent project delays.
- Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing & commissioning, and handover processes.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and safety protocols on-site.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project execution, preferably in mid to large-scale projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering systems.
- Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with local building codes, health & safety regulations, and QA/QC procedures.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are an advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily site-based with regular visits to the main office and coordination meetings.
