Project Engineer

General Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our expanding team and oversee

sheet piling and shoring projects across Abu Dhabi. This is a hands-on, site-based role responsible for

managing the full project lifecycle, from planning and mobilization to execution and demobilization. The

ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in geotechnical and structural works, excellent

organizational abilities and a proactive mindset to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Project Execution & Delivery

• Plan, manage, and execute sheet piling and shoring operations across multiple sites, ensuring
  
  

compliance with project specifications and engineering drawings.

• Oversee the mobilization, layout, installation, driving and extraction of sheet piles using vibro or
  
  

impact hammers.

• Supervise excavation support works, including bracing, walers, struts and tie-back systems.
• Ensure all construction activities are performed in line with method statements, approved
  
  

designs, safety procedures and local authority requirements.

• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of steel sheets, waling
  
  

systems, equipment and consumables.

• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including:
• Daily activity reports and pile logs
• Equipment and material delivery records
• As-built drawings and layout records
• Safety toolbox talks and manpower deployment logs
• Inspection and test reports (ITRs) and QA/QC documentation
  
  

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare and submit daily progress reports and weekly productivity and cost summaries to the
  
  

Line Manager.

• Track project performance against schedule, budget, and productivity benchmarks.
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to resource and equipment forecasting.
• Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and subcontractors, providing regular
  
  

updates and resolving technical or operational issues.

• Attend coordination meetings and present project progress, challenges and solutions effectively.
  
  

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

• Maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward unsafe work practices, ensuring strict compliance with
  
  

company and client QHSE standards.

• Conduct regular safety and quality inspections to ensure work conforms to approved procedures
  
  

and specifications.

• Immediately report and document any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
• Ensure completion of all inspection checklists, lifting plans and safety permits before work
  
  

commencement.

• Promote a culture of continuous safety awareness among the site team and subcontractors.
  
  

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with design, commercial, logistics, and QA/QC teams to ensure technical accuracy and
  
  

smooth project execution.

• Identify potential risks, delays, or design discrepancies, proposing practical engineering solutions.
• Support the Line Manager in resource optimization, ensuring efficient use of manpower,
  
  

equipment and materials.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending updates to method statements and
  
  

best practices based on site experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sheet piling, shoring or deep excavation support works,
  
  

preferably within the UAE/GCC.

• Strong understanding of temporary works systems, including:
• Steel sheet piling, contiguous/bored pile shoring, king post walls, and bracing systems
• Soil and ground conditions, load transfer, and lateral earth pressure principles
• Pile driving equipment, vibro hammers, hydraulic presses, and lifting operations
• Proven experience managing multiple infrastructure or marine projects.
• Strong leadership, organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage diverse teams
  
  

and subcontractors.

• Excellent problem-solving and technical judgment in challenging site conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, or
  
  

similar tools is an advantage.

• Fluent in English; Arabic is considered a plus.
