Project Engineer – Civil

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer – Civil to manage and supervise site execution activities for construction projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines while coordinating effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Execution

· Supervise daily construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and Qatar construction standards.

· Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.

· Identify potential site issues and implement corrective actions promptly.

· Ensure works are executed as per method statements and approved materials.

Planning & Coordination

· Coordinate with Project Managers, Consultants, Architects, and Subcontractors for smooth execution of work.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and survey data.

· Assist in preparing work schedules and monitoring project milestones.

· Support project team in achieving timely project completion.

Technical & Engineering Duties

· Analyze engineering plans, topographical data, and technical drawings for execution.

· Review shop drawings and ensure site implementation accuracy.

· Monitor material usage and request materials in advance as per project schedule.

· Ensure delivered materials comply with approved technical submittals and industry standards.

Risk & Quality Management

· Identify risks and implement preventive measures to avoid delays, rework, and safety incidents.

· Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and safety regulations.

· Participate in inspections and approvals with consultants.

Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain site records including:

§ Daily progress reports

§ Site diaries

§ Change orders

§ Inspection requests

§ Material logs

· Prepare progress reports and submit updates to management.

Requirements

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

· Minimum 8 years total experience

· Minimum 4 years GCC experience (Qatar experience preferred)

Certifications

· UPDA/MMUP Engineer License – Mandatory

Skills

· Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

· Good coordination and communication skills

· Knowledge of QA/QC and safety standards

· Proficiency in MS Office (AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage)
