Project Engineer – Group Facilities & Engineering

Role Summary

The Project Engineer – Group Facilities & Engineering is responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, and executing all engineering, construction, fit-out, maintenance, refurbishment, and facility enhancement projects across the Group's business units.

The role serves as the central engineering focal point for all facilities, including corporate offices, automotive showrooms, service centers, warehouses, workshops, accommodation facilities, logistics hubs, commercial properties, and future expansion projects.

The incumbent will oversee civil, architectural, interior fit-out, exterior works, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing), HVAC, fire and life safety systems, landscaping, infrastructure upgrades, and facility optimization projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, budgets, and project timelines.

The position requires a highly organized and technically competent engineering professional capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while supporting the operational requirements of various business units across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage end-to-end execution of engineering and facility projects across all Group companies.
  • Develop project scopes, specifications, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate project activities from concept design through commissioning and handover.
  • Monitor project progress against approved timelines and budgets.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project proposals for management approval.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities and final handover documentation.

Interior Fit-Out Projects

  • Manage office fit-outs, renovations, refurbishments, and workplace enhancement projects.
  • Supervise interior construction works including partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, furniture installation, and finishing works.
  • Coordinate with consultants, designers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Review interior design proposals and ensure compliance with operational requirements.
  • Monitor quality and workmanship throughout project execution.

Exterior & Civil Engineering Works

  • Oversee external facility upgrades, structural improvements, paving works, boundary walls, parking areas, roads, and landscaping projects.
  • Manage civil maintenance and construction activities across Group properties.
  • Ensure all works comply with local municipality and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate infrastructure modifications and site development projects.

  • Act as the engineering support partner for all Group business units.
  • Evaluate facility-related requests and recommend technical solutions.
  • Support business expansion, relocation, and facility setup initiatives.
  • Conduct facility condition assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Develop preventive maintenance recommendations.
  • Support facility operational continuity through proactive engineering interventions.

Showroom & Dealership Engineering

  • Manage construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects for automotive showrooms.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer brand standards.
  • Coordinate showroom layout modifications and customer experience enhancements.
  • Support service center infrastructure upgrades.
  • Monitor workshop equipment installations and facility readiness.

Warehouse & Logistics Facilities

  • Support warehouse layout optimization and infrastructure development.
  • Manage storage facility modifications and capacity enhancement projects.
  • Coordinate loading bay improvements and operational efficiency projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and logistics standards.

Procurement & Contractor Management

  • Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and scope documents.
  • Evaluate contractor quotations and technical submissions.
  • Participate in vendor selection and contractor appointment processes.
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance.
  • Certify completed works and recommend payments.
  • Ensure cost competitiveness and value engineering opportunities.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Develop project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Review variation orders and cost implications.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Prepare project financial reports for management review.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Liaise with authorities including:

  • Other regulatory bodies
  • Ensure permits, approvals, and licenses are obtained as required.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE engineering standards and building regulations.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and safety audits.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance.
  • Ensure implementation of safe working practices.
  • Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

Asset Management Support

  • Maintain engineering asset records.
  • Support facility asset lifecycle planning.
  • Monitor equipment replacement and upgrade requirements.
  • Assist in capital expenditure planning.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain project documentation and engineering records.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering submissions.
  • Prepare progress reports and management updates.
  • Ensure proper filing of permits, approvals, warranties, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)

  • NEBOSH / IOSH
  • UAE Driving License

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of engineering and project management experience.
  • Experience managing multi-site facilities and engineering projects.
  • Strong exposure to commercial buildings, showrooms, warehouses, workshops, and corporate facilities.
  • UAE experience is mandatory.
  • Experience dealing with government authorities and regulatory approvals.

Authority

The Project Engineer shall have authority to coordinate engineering activities, engage contractors and consultants, review technical proposals, monitor project execution, and recommend project approvals within delegated authority limits. The role shall act as the Group's engineering representative in supporting all business units and facility-related initiatives across the organization.

Pay: AED12,500.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
