Project Engineer (Mechanical) – District Cooling & Chilled Water Networks

The Project Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for the on-site execution, coordination, and technical delivery of district cooling chilled water pipeline projects.
This role ensures that all mechanical works are completed safely, on time, as per approved drawings, authority requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Technical Control

• Supervise installation of:
• Chilled water supply & return pipelines
• Pre-insulated steel and HDPE piping
• Valve chambers, fittings, anchor blocks, thrust blocks
• Flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning
• Ensure works are executed as per approved shop drawings, method statements, and ITPs.

2. Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily, weekly, and look-ahead work plans.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and reinstatement teams.
• Arrange manpower, materials, equipment, and inspections.

3. Authority & Client Interface

• Coordinate with RTA, DEWA, Empower, Emicool, Tabreed inspectors.
• Attend inspections, close NCRs, and respond to RFIs.

4. Quality, Safety & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with HSE plans, QA/QC procedures, and project specifications.
• Prepare WIRs, MIRs, daily reports, test packs, and as-built data.

5. Cost & Progress Control

• Track site productivity and quantities.
• Support QS with measurements, progress, and variations.

Required Experience

• 4–8+ years in mechanical site execution for:
• District cooling networks
• Chilled water underground piping
• Experience with pre-insulated piping, steel/HDPE welding, flushing & pressure testing.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read AutoCAD shop drawings
• Knowledge of method statements, ITPs, and test procedures
• Understanding of district cooling standards & ASHRAE

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
