Project Engineering Manager

The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering design and execution phases of high-value projects in Dubai. This role ensures that all engineering activities are integrated, compliant with UAE local authorities (such as DEWA, Dubai Municipality, RTA), and delivered within the specified timeline, budget, and quality standards. You will act as the technical bridge between stakeholders, consultants, and site execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Design Management

Manage the entire engineering lifecycle from conceptual design through to "As-Built" documentation.

Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets to ensure alignment with project goals.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Civil, Structural, MEP, and Process) to ensure zero design clashes.

Implement Value Engineering (VE) to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.

2. Project Coordination & Planning

Develop comprehensive Engineering Execution Plans (EEP) and detailed schedules.

Monitor progress against the baseline schedule and implement recovery plans where necessary.

Manage technical queries (RFIs) and ensure timely responses to prevent site delays.

Coordinate with the Procurement department to ensure long-lead technical items are specified and ordered early.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Control

Ensure all designs comply with Dubai Municipality (DM), Civil Defence (DCD), and other relevant local statutory requirements.

Oversee the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes for all engineering deliverables.

Lead technical audits and ensure adherence to international standards (ISO, Eurocodes, or British Standards as applicable).

4. Stakeholder & Interface Management

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the Client and Lead Consultants.

Manage sub-contractors and specialized engineering vendors, ensuring their output meets project specifications.

Lead weekly technical coordination meetings and provide clear, data-driven reports to senior management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in engineering management, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC market.

Professional Status: Society of Engineers (UAE) membership is highly preferred. PMP or Chartered Engineer (ChEng) status is an advantage.

Technical Skills: * Proficiency in Project Management software (Oracle Primavera P6 or MS Project).

Advanced knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and Revit.

Familiarity with Dubai-specific building codes and permitting processes.

Core Competencies

Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate technical bottlenecks before they impact the site.

Communication: Fluent in English (written and verbal). Ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.

Adaptability: Proven track record of managing multicultural teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of contract management (FIDIC) and budget control.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED150.00 per hour

Expected hours: 80 per week
