Job Description: Project Head - Circular Textile Waste Management Programme Position Title: Project Head Department: TRF Location: Kozhikode Role Overview The Project Head - Circular Textile Programme will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, and successful delivery of Green Worms’ Textile Waste Management initiatives. The role ensures that programme objectives are met within defined timelines and budgets while upholding operational excellence, financial sustainability, and measurable social and environmental impact. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Strategy ● Develop detailed project plans, scopes, and deliverables aligned with Green Worms’ organizational strategy and sustainability goals. ● Define project milestones, timelines, and resource allocation (human, financial, and material). ● Contribute to strategic direction by identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and scalability. 2. Project Execution & Management ● Lead day-to-day execution of textile waste operations across multiple districts. ● Supervise and mentor the project team, including Project Coordinators, Associates, Facility Operations staff. ● Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgets. ● Implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to track KPIs and outcomes. ● Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement timely corrective actions. 3. Technical & Operational Oversight ● Oversee the functioning of Textile Recovery Facilities (TRFs), ensuring efficient sorting, recovery, and value addition. ● Maintain compliance with environmental and safety standards. ● Standardize operating procedures to improve efficiency and recovery rates. 4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development ● Build and maintain partnerships with donors, recyclers, resellers, and local self-governments. ● Represent the project in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and conferences. ● Foster collaborations with community groups and women’s Self-Help Groups for inclusive growth. 5. Financial Management & Reporting ● Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accountability. ● Track expenditures and prepare comprehensive project and donor reports. ● Identify funding opportunities and contribute to concept notes and proposal development. 6. Risk Management & Problem Solving ● Identify potential operational, financial, or environmental risks and design mitigation strategies. ● Drive problem-solving efforts within the team through a proactive, solution-oriented approach. 7. Research & Development ● Conceptualize and execute research on textile waste characterization and recycling technologies. ● Pilot sustainable product innovations and evaluate scalability potential. ● Identify new technologies that will help material processing and value additions. Skills & Competencies ● Proven experience in project and operations management. ● Strong leadership and team management skills. ● Financial planning and donor management experience. ● Data-driven decision-making and analytical capabilities. ● Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination. ● Deep understanding of circular economy and sustainable systems.
