Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certifications
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum Master Certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management with at least 5 years managing Drupal-based modernization projects.
- Preferred Background: Prior experience managing projects for universities, higher education systems, or government agencies.
- Strong understanding of Drupal (7–11), Acquia Site Factory, and related content management systems.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams (technical, design, and content) through full project lifecycles — from planning to deployment.
- Expertise in managing projects aligned with WCAG 2.1 A/AA accessibility, SEO optimization, and digital brand compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications for enterprise-level modernization efforts.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or MS Project.
- Strong background in vendor coordination, subcontractor management, and University/State contracting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills for interfacing with academic departments, IT teams, and senior administrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UC Merced’s comprehensive Web Modernization Program, overseeing the migration of approximately 380 university websites from Drupal 7 to Drupal 11.
- Plan, organize, and control project activities — defining scope, schedules, deliverables, and milestones aligned with University objectives.
- Coordinate with technical teams, content strategists, and design experts to ensure smooth migration, accessibility compliance, and performance optimization.
- Develop detailed project timelines, communication plans, and risk registers, ensuring that milestones (such as upgrading 5–10 priority sites before December 2025) are met.
- Manage and report on project budgets, labor hours, and resource utilization per UC Merced’s reporting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with University leadership and departmental stakeholders to ensure alignment with academic and branding standards.
- Mentor project team members and ensure adherence to University ethics, supplier conduct, and sustainability policies.
- Ensure all deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 A/AA accessibility, SEO, and UC sustainability standards.
- Oversee quality control, testing, and corrective actions, ensuring adherence to UC Merced’s performance specifications and contract requirements.
- Support the brand refresh and redesign of 2–3 Drupal 11 templates, ensuring consistent user experience and compliance with UC branding guidelines.
- Provide periodic progress, performance, and compliance reports, addressing issues promptly to maintain schedule and quality.
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprints, and reviews to ensure iterative delivery and stakeholder engagement.
