Job Overview
The Project Manager at Pak German Engineers (PGE) will oversee planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects related to traffic management systems, automation, road safety products, and smart city solutions.
The role demands a strong technical background in transportation or electrical engineering, combined with proven project leadership, client coordination, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including government departments, consultants, and contractors.
The ideal candidate will ensure that all projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards, while also identifying new opportunities to expand PGE’s footprint across Pakistan’s smart infrastructure and automation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead and manage end-to-end project execution for traffic signals, automation systems, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and other PGE solutions.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans while ensuring adherence to client requirements and company standards.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing of systems including traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, radar speed signs, variable message signs, and automation systems.
- Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with government bodies (CDA, NHA, TMA, Traffic Police, etc.), consultants, and vendors to ensure compliance with design, safety, and performance standards.
- Conduct technical presentations, progress meetings, and client updates to maintain transparency and satisfaction.
- Prepare and present project progress reports, variation requests, and completion certificates.
- Technical Oversight
- Review and approve engineering drawings, BOQs, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify on-site issues and propose practical engineering and operational solutions.
- Ensure that all systems adhere to PGE’s safety protocols and traffic engineering standards.
- Team Leadership
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor productivity, and provide mentorship and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE and QA/QC guidelines.
- Business Development Support
- Collaborate with management to identify new projects and prepare proposals, technical bids, and tender documents.
- Support marketing and business development teams by providing technical insights for presentations and feasibility studies.
- Represent PGE in meetings with clients, partners, and stakeholders to promote the company’s technical expertise and reliability.
- Post-Project Evaluation
- Conduct after-action reviews and ensure proper documentation for project closure.
- Evaluate performance, propose improvements in design, installation, or maintenance processes.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Transportation Engineering.
- Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in project management, traffic engineering, or automation systems.
- Prior experience working with public sector infrastructure or smart city projects will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of traffic systems design, solar power integration, and automation technologies.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of traffic software, AutoCAD, or design tools is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication (English & Urdu).
