Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Project Manager for the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS).
The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to manage and coordinate multiple research projects, including developing a cohort of individuals with and without HIV to study pulmonary function. The Project Manager will plan, direct, support, and coordinate multiple aspects of the research projects for the program aimed at understanding lung disease in people with HIV and those on prophylactic therapy. The Project Manager will supervise and support research staff and will oversee the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the launch of new research including protocol development and regulatory approval. The Project Manager will maintain effective communication and active discussion related to the involved research with the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team. Ensures that research is conducted in accordance with Good Research Practices guidelines as well as other institutional and sponsor regulations and guidelines.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Plans, directs, supports, and coordinates multiple aspects of the research program aimed at understanding lung disease in people with HIV, with the Principal Investigator.
- Administers and formulates research project objectives and system development requirements, in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Reports to the PI on project progress, problems and the need for changes.
- Supervises and supports team project staff during program performance and participates directly in project implementation as required.
- Prepares project plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, and the inclusion of project milestones when reporting to Stakeholders.
- Collaborates with research support staff in the CTSA to enroll individuals into study protocols.
- Works with the HIV clinical staff to identify and enroll participants.
- Ensures that all work and documentation meet the standards of the department and the project.
- Establishes and maintains a centralized database for data curation and research project data tracking.
- Develops and submits regulatory paperwork to entities such as Rutgers IRB and the NIH.
- Develops and documents standard operating procedures (SOPs) for emerging projects and oversees the implementation of SOPs and the launch of new research.
