Project Manager

About the role:

We are looking for an energetic, independent-minded Project Manager to be a key member of our team. This position will require the individual to focus on the innovation in our product. Your job will lead and manage multiple projects, assist the Technical Lead with oversight of the development and technical teams and provide, not only, regulatory but industry wide initiatives for the business — whether the current or future proposition, its commercial or regulatory change is welcomed.

As a small but growing team, we’ll want you to actively participate in all aspects of the business with a ‘can do’ and ‘roll your’ sleeves up’ attitude. We’re a start-up and you’ll need to be willing to take on responsibility. With a major product development underway, you’ll be instrumental in the launch of an exciting new service for the education sector in the UK and South Africa

Our expectations from you:

● Provide technical and general updates in the bi weekly stand up calls with management ● Lead the stand up calls with the development team ● Manage multiple priorities and project items with the development team ● Review the code and correct errors ● Develop and lead the technology strategy aligned to the business goals, with a strong focus on both local and international market requirements ● Oversee integration and customisation of the UK-based educational platform for private and state schools in both the UK and South Africa ● Build and scale a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform for administrators, teacher’s students and parents. ● Collaborate with product and business teams to prioritise features, roadmap, and delivery timelines ● Drive agile development, testing, release management, and ongoing support processes ● Evaluate and select tools, technologies, vendors, and partnerships ● Stay ahead of trends and regulatory changes ● Lead technical change in respect of AI

What you will need:

● Proven experience as a project manager working in Agile environment for a SaaS, platform-based, or startup ● Experience working with distributed/offshore development teams ● Solid background in full-stack development, cloud architecture (Azure or AWS), and platform scaling ● Strong understanding of integrations, APIs, and agile delivery practices ● Experience in the educational sector, e-learning, or education technology domain is highly advantageous ● Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. ● Knowledge of POPIA and data security standards applicable to education ● Be driven and determined to be part of a high-growth start-up team where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact ● To be prepared and be flexible in research through, knowledge and using industry contacts, to find answers where you may not have previous experience ● Inspiring Leader of some team members and influencer at all levels of an organization ● The ability to restructure complex problems, making them more manageable, and to assist colleagues — with a service delivery attitude ● Awareness of the changing regulatory landscape and the curiosity to find opportunities in technology, market developments, though these changes ● At least 5 years of directly relevant experience and have obtained industry qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs300,000.00 per month
