Job Role: Project Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE

Reporting to: Head Of Supply Chain

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the activation, commissioning, and operational readiness of a cold store project in the UAE.

Job Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end activation and go-live of the cold store facility, ensuring that the infrastructure, refrigeration systems, warehouse operations, technology, manpower, processes, compliance requirements, and supporting systems are fully ready for commercial operations.

The role will coordinate closely with contractors, consultants, IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Food Safety, HR, Finance, and senior management to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with operational and cold-chain requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the project from completion stage through commissioning and go-live.
• Develop and monitor project timelines, milestones, budgets, risks, and critical dependencies.
• Coordinate cold store, refrigeration, MEP, warehouse equipment, IT, ERP/WMS, and e-commerce system readiness.
• Ensure efficient workflows for receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, dispatch, and returns.
• Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and service providers.
• Conduct testing, UAT, trial runs, and operational simulations before launch.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulatory, food safety, hygiene, and cold-chain requirements.
• Coordinate manpower planning, training, SOP development, and operational readiness.
• Ensure all critical equipment, systems, permits, documentation, and approvals are completed before go-live.
• Provide regular project progress reports and escalation of risks to senior management.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of direct project management experience in cold storage, refrigerated warehouses, temperature-controlled logistics, or similar projects.
• Proven experience managing a cold store project through commissioning, activation, and operational go-live.
• Fruits & vegetables, fresh produce, food trading, FMCG, or perishable-goods experience in the UAE is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, cold rooms, warehouse operations, MEP coordination, and cold-chain requirements.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, e-commerce fulfilment systems, and warehouse technology is preferred.
• Strong experience in contractor, vendor, budget, timeline, and stakeholder management.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent recognized Project Management certification is mandatory.
• Cold Chain, Supply Chain, HACCP, Lean Six Sigma, or Health & Safety certification is an added advantage.
