Project Manager Assistant

Locations: Throughout Kentucky and Tennessee

Seeking a strong field-focused Assistant Superintendent to support on-site operations for Civil Construction projects (mainly Bridge and Aiport work). This role works closely with the Vice President and Superintendent to help coordinate daily field activities, maintain safety and quality standards, and keep projects moving on schedule. While travel is required, will be home most nights.

Construction Assistant Superintendent Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily field operations
  • Assist the Superintendent, Foremen, and Vice President with maintaining and distributing project schedules and field documentation
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, site logistics, and work sequencing to support project progress
  • Document subcontractor meetings and maintain accurate project records
  • Review drawings, submittals, and shop drawings; distribute updated drawings and specifications to field teams
  • Produce and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and Field Observation Forms
  • Perform field measurements and assist with identifying and resolving jobsite issues in coordination with the project team
  • Maintain field office drawings, documents, and project files
  • Thoroughly photograph construction progress and maintain site documentation using Procore or similar software
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes, including tracking mechanisms, inspections, and testing logs
  • Assist with field inspections and the creation and documentation of pre-punch and final punch lists
  • Help enforce jobsite safety standards, conduct safety walks, and promote a strong safety culture

Construction Assistant Superintendent Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Standard Construction Procedures
  • Safety-focused mindset with working knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Experience creating, tracking, and closing punch lists
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Can pass a drug screen and background check
  • Willingness to travel within Kentucky (main) and Tennessee

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
