Job Summary :
The Project Manager - Network Engineer serves as the senior technical lead responsible for overseeing enterprise network operations supporting the Department of Labor’s nationwide infrastructure.

This role combines technical leadership and program management, overseeing network engineering teams responsible for maintaining connectivity across hundreds of federal locations.

Nature of Work

The role supports one of the federal government’s largest enterprise network environments, connecting:

• 600+ nationwide locations

• Federal data centers

• Cloud infrastructure

• Unified communications systems

The engineer leads modernization initiatives including network automation, zero trust architecture, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Design enterprise WAN and LAN architecture

• Lead troubleshooting of critical network outages

• Architect hybrid cloud networking solutions

• Implement security segmentation and Zero Trust models

• Maintain enterprise network documentation

Program Management

• Manage network engineering teams

• Coordinate infrastructure modernization projects

• Ensure compliance with federal security standards

• Manage schedules, risks, and deliverables

• Serve as the primary technical interface with federal stakeholders

Strategic Initiatives

• Lead network automation initiatives

• Support cloud migration efforts

• Implement enterprise monitoring platforms

• Improve network reliability and performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

• 10+ years of network engineering experience

• 5+ years leading enterprise infrastructure teams

• Experience supporting federal government environments

• Experience with large-scale WAN architecture

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco CCIE or CCNP

• PMP Certification

• AWS or Azure Architect

• CISSP (Preferred)
