Project Manager Software Development

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager with a strong background in software development, coding, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between project management and technical execution—overseeing project delivery, assessing resource needs, and ensuring smooth communication across cross-functional teams. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on technical understanding to effectively guide development teams and ensure timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

•  Project Management & Planning
•  Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
•  Conduct resource assessment and allocate tasks based on skillsets and project requirements.
•  Track progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
•  Identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, proposing solutions proactively.
•  Team & Communication
•  Take regular updates from developers, QA, and DevOps engineers to ensure alignment.
•  Act as a communication bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
•  Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
•  Technical Oversight
•  Leverage coding knowledge to review technical feasibility and provide guidance when required.
•  Collaborate with development teams on architecture discussions, code quality, and best practices.
•  Work closely with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and environment management.
•  Quality & Delivery
•  Ensure projects meet defined quality standards, deadlines, and budget constraints.
•  Maintain documentation for technical specifications, project progress, and post-project reviews.
•  Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and development methodologies.

Requirements

Education & Experience

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
•  3–5 years of experience in software development and at least 2+ years in project management.

Technical Skills

•  Strong coding knowledge in one or more stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, etc.).
•  Familiarity with modern frameworks and architectures (React, Angular, Node.js, .NET, etc.).
•  Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
•  Experience with project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Soft Skills

•  Strong leadership and team management abilities.
•  Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
•  Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

•  Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
•  Experience in scaling software projects or leading distributed teams.
•  Exposure to microservices architecture and API management.
