Project Procurement Officer

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Role Purpose: The Procurement Officer at Al Bawani Construction Company is responsible for supporting the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services needed for construction projects. This entry-level position focuses on supplier sourcing, purchase order management, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.

Key Activities:

· Assist in identifying potential suppliers and evaluating their capabilities.

· Maintain updated supplier lists and contact information.

· Participate in supplier assessments to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.

· Gather and analyze supplier performance data.

· Prepare and issue purchase orders based on project requirements and specifications.

· Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

· Assist in managing inventory levels and restocking materials as needed.

· Coordinate with internal teams to clarify procurement needs.

· Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders and supplier communications.

· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during procurement processes.

· Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

· Update procurement manuals and operational checklists as needed.

· Support cost tracking efforts and assist in analyzing procurement expenditures.

· Prepare reports on procurement activities and supplier performance as requested.

· Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

· Assist in preparing budget forecasts for procurement.

· Work closely with project teams to understand procurement needs and timelines.

· Assist in coordinating communication between internal teams and suppliers.

· Participate in meetings to provide updates on procurement status and address any concerns.

· Support training initiatives for new procurement staff.

Industry / Domain: Construction industry.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.

· Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.

· Familiarity with construction materials and equipment is a plus.

· Previous experience in a procurement or administrative role is advantageous but not required.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Education and Certification Minimum Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.

· Entry-level certifications in procurement or supply chain management are beneficial.

Job Specific Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic procurement software.

· Good analytical skills for evaluating supplier options and procurement costs.

· Effective communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Basic problem-solving skills for addressing procurement-related issues.
