We are a growing property management company seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day accounting operations.

This role is critical to our business. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the accounting function, manage multiple priorities, and operate with a high level of accuracy and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is not just task-oriented—they are a problem-solver, a self-starter, and someone who can work independently while keeping the team informed and aligned.

Position Overview

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for the full cycle of accounting operations for a portfolio of managed properties. This includes rent processing, reconciliations, vendor payments, owner distributions, and financial reporting.

While our systems are primarily managed in AppFolio, we are open to candidates with strong bookkeeping experience who are willing and able to quickly learn new systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesProperty Management Accounting

  • Process rent collections, tenant ledger activity, and owner distributions
  • Maintain accurate records for tenants, owners, vendors, and properties
  • Post charges including rent, late fees, management fees, and other property-related income
  • Enter and process vendor bills, utility bills, and expenses
  • Manage recurring transactions and ensure consistency in billing
  • Prepare and review owner statements and financial reports
  • Communicate regarding accounting matters as needed

Reconciliations & Financial Accuracy

  • Perform bank, trust account, and security deposit reconciliations
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and tax preparation

Systems & Process Management

  • Utilize property management and accounting systems (primarily AppFolio)
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
  • Help improve workflows, organization, and internal controls
  • Troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues as they arise

Team Support & Coordination

  • Collaborate with property managers and administrative staff
  • Help ensure accounting-related tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide guidance or support to team members as needed
  • Communicate clearly and proactively when issues arise

QualificationsRequired

  • 3–5+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations
  • Experience managing high-volume transactions with accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Preferred

  • Experience with AppFolio or other property management software
  • Property management or real estate accounting experience
  • Experience with trust accounting
  • QuickBooks experience

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
