PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR

HOURS: Minimum of 7.5 hours per day. Must be able to work flexible and/or additional hours as mandated by library operational needs. (10:00am – 2:00pm Tues – Sat with rotating weekends)

BARGAINING UNIT: Non Bargaining Unit

PAY GRADE: 4 ($49,650.00)

LOCATION: Main Campus

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervise and facilitate Property Management functions including motor vehicle fleet management, custodial services, and mail and shipping operations.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate degree or the equivalent of two years coursework from an accredited college or university preferred.


Experience:

  • Two years building operations and custodial maintenance, shipping/receiving, or fleet management experience.
  • One year supervisory or lead worker experience in a union environment preferred.


Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of custodial maintenance and fleet management operations and practices.
  • Ability to manage small, concurrent projects on a short-term basis.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others, and evaluate performance Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Ability to maintain insurable driving status per the standards of the Library's fleet insurance carrier.
  • Experience with and knowledge of cleaning and grounds maintenance techniques and practices.
  • Ability to operate various custodian equipment as required, including for training purposes.
  • Able to learn and use building equipment and software such as lighting systems and heating and cooling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on the performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Trains and motivates staff.
  • Manages daily mail room operations including coordination with shipping and receiving.
  • Supports Director of Property Management in management of vehicle fleet including budgeting, leasing and purchases, and maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate, schedule, supervise, and assign work assignments to staff. Provide direction supervision of staff including orientation, training, discipline, and performance evaluations. Comply with collective bargaining agreements. Ensure staff provide exceptional customer service to Library patrons and visitors.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of custodial services. Perform inspections of multiple locations (CPL branches, departments, physical grounds).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
