The Role
Compliance and work permit processes for the company across Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain. The PRO ensures smooth processing of government approvals, licensing, permits, and employee work permits while maintaining strong relationships with relevant authorities. The role requires proactive coordination, excellent organizational skills, and deep knowledge of UAE governmental procedures. Key Responsibilities: 1. Government Liaison & Compliance: • Handle communications with local authorities in Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and UAQ. • Facilitate approvals, permits, and registrations for company operations. • Ensure compliance with UAE federal and local regulations across all operational locations. • Keep updated on changes in government policies affecting business operations. 2. Work Permit Management: • Manage the full lifecycle of employee work permits across all locations: - New Applications: Submission and follow-up for new work permits. - Renewals: Timely renewal of existing work permits to ensure uninterrupted employee validity. - Cancellations: Process cancellations and coordinate with HR and authorities as required. • Maintain accurate records of all work permit applications, approvals, and expiry dates. • Liaise with immigration and labor authorities to resolve any work permit issues. 3. Stakeholder Management: • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, free zone authorities, and community stakeholders. 4. Documentation & Reporting: • Prepare, submit, and track official documents, licenses, and correspondence with authorities. • Provide regular reports on government relations activities, work permit status, and approvals. • Ensure proper documentation for audits and internal record-keeping. 5. Regulatory Compliance • Communicate key company updates to relevant authorities in a timely manner. 6. Cross-Functional Support: • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to facilitate government approvals and administrative requirements. • Advise internal teams on regulatory compliance and work permit matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of PRO experience in the UAE across multiple Emirates. • Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, immigration regulations, and government procedures. • Experience handling work permits (new, renewals, cancellations) for employees. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage). • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Strong networking skills with government departments and local authorities. • Proficient in MS Office and document management systems. Additional Requirements: • Should have own car and UAE driving license • Willingness to travel frequently between Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and UAQ.
