Public Safety Officer Position Summary

We are actively searching for a Public Safety Officer. Under general supervision performs the duties of a Public Safety Officer. Responsible for carrying out the mission of the hospital by maintaining a safe and secure environment in and around the hospital buildings and grounds and protection of patients, employees, visitors, and their property. Participates as instructed in specialized department activities such as crime prevention, building and campus security rounds, assisting in the securing of patient property, patient and/or visitor escorts on campus, exercises and drills, and special events.

Public Safety Officer Position Requirements

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or higher is preferred.

Experience:

• Must have one (1) year prior law enforcement experience in corrections or a security related position.
  
• Must be able to successfully undergo a comprehensive background and character investigation for commissioning as a Special Police Officer by the State of Maryland.
