Job Description: Purchase Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Purchase Engineer , your primary responsibility is to manage the procurement process of electrical equipment, materials, and services required for various projects. You will work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods while maintaining high quality standards. Your role is vital in supporting the smooth operation of the organization's projects and maintaining efficient supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning:

* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine the required electrical equipment, materials, and services for projects.

* Develop comprehensive procurement plans considering project timelines, budgets, and quality requirements.

* Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and products, and maintain a supplier database.

2. Supplier Management:

* Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on their product quality, delivery capabilities, and pricing.

* Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolve any issues or disputes, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

3. Purchase Order Processing:

* Generate purchase orders based on approved requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

* Review and verify purchase orders, ensuring they include all necessary details such as item descriptions, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules.

* Coordinate with the finance department to ensure proper invoicing and timely payment to suppliers.

4. Inventory Management:

* Monitor and manage inventory levels of electrical equipment, materials, and spare parts.

* Conduct periodic stock checks and reconcile physical stock with system records.

* Analyze consumption patterns and forecast future requirements to maintain optimum inventory levels.

5. Quality Assurance:

* Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure purchased electrical equipment and materials meet the required standards and specifications.

* Conduct quality inspections of incoming goods and address any non-compliance issues with suppliers.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

* Maintain accurate records of all procurement-related activities, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, and contracts.

* Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including vendor performance, cost savings, and inventory levels.

* Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as import/export regulations and taxation.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

* Knowledge of Tally is a must

* Proven experience of 3-5 years in procurement, preferably in the electrical engineering or mechanical industry.

* Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, materials, and industry-specific procurement processes.

* Familiarity with sourcing and evaluation techniques for suppliers.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.

* Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

* Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
