Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify and source raw materials such as gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones, findings, and packaging materials.
- Maintain relationships with trusted suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Negotiate rates, quality, and delivery timelines to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials and consumables.
- Coordinate with production, design, and sales teams to forecast material requirements.
- Ensure timely replenishment to avoid production delays.
- Vendor Management
- Evaluate and empanel new suppliers based on quality, reliability, and pricing.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve any supply issues.
- Obtain competitive quotations and prepare comparative statements for approval.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements related to precious metals and gemstones (e.g., hallmarking, certifications).
- Maintain purchase orders, invoices, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and vendor payment follow-ups.
- Verify weights, purity, and authenticity of materials purchased.
- Cost Control & Budgeting
- Support management in cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Prepare purchase reports, cost analysis, and vendor performance records.
- Coordination
- Liaise with accounts for vendor payment processing.
- Work closely with production, design, and sales departments for material planning.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of jewellery materials (precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, findings).
- Good analytical and numerical ability.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, or Jewellery software (preferred).
- Attention to detail and high integrity.
