Purchase Executive – Contracting
Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing procurement activities related to contracting projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, equipment, and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms. The role requires close coordination with project, engineering, and finance teams to support project execution and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement for contracting projects (civil, MEP, fit-out, or EPC as applicable)
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders in line with project specifications
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts to achieve cost efficiency
- Ensure procurement activities comply with contract terms, company policies, and legal requirements
- Coordinate with project teams to forecast material requirements and delivery schedules
- Track purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier performance to avoid project delays
- Maintain procurement documentation including contracts, BOQs, approvals, and vendor records
- Identify alternate suppliers and value-engineering opportunities to reduce project costs
- Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, shortages, and quality concerns
- Support vendor prequalification and performance evaluation processes
- Coordinate with finance for invoice verification, payment processing, and cost control
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 4–7 years of procurement experience in the contracting or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontracting, and service procurement
- Experience handling contracts, BOQs, and project-based purchasing
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Familiarity with local market suppliers and contracting practices
