Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the packaging materials industry, ensuring competitive pricing, consistent quality, and timely delivery.
- Identify, assess, and onboard reliable suppliers for flexible packaging materials including polyester films, aluminum foils, paperboards, BOPP, LDPE, and laminated products.
- Negotiate commercial terms, price structures, and delivery schedules to support international export requirements and client expectations.
- Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to understand material specifications and ensure supplier compliance.
- Monitor packaging material trends, raw material price fluctuations, and supplier performance to drive cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all procurement is in line with the company’s packaging quality standards, certifications, and client-specific compliance (e.g., FDA, EU standards).
- Maintain an optimal stock of standard materials while managing project-based ordering with minimal excess inventory.
- Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, delivery tracking, vendor invoicing, and reconciliation in coordination with accounts.
- Proactively resolve any supply delays, quality complaints, or order discrepancies to avoid project interruptions.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is accurately maintained for audit trails, vendor evaluations, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Packaging Technology, or a related field; certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or Diploma in Packaging preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the packaging industry, preferably with exposure to flexible and export-oriented materials.
- Strong understanding of packaging substrates, technical specifications, and sourcing challenges in international trade environments.
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills with the ability to build long-term strategic supplier partnerships.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement modules; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement cycles simultaneously with attention to detail and time sensitivity.
- High integrity and commitment to procurement ethics and company values.
