Position Overview
Kuniya Group of Institutions is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations in our building construction division. The role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement of construction materials, and aligning purchasing strategies with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
- Source, evaluate, and finalize suppliers/vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost optimization and quality standards.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and the store/inventory team to ensure timely material availability.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
- Establish and monitor vendor performance metrics (delivery time, quality, compliance).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Forecast demand for materials and plan purchases accordingly.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil/Construction Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing within the building construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and market dynamics.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Procurement software.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
