Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, hardware, upholstery, machinery, and other supplies required for furniture production. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, maintains quality standards, and builds strong relationships with suppliers to support uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors for raw materials such as wood, laminates, veneers, plywood, MDF, hardware, adhesives, fabrics, foams, and finishing materials.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid production delays.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, pricing agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships to ensure reliability and cost savings.
- Conduct regular market analysis to track trends in prices, new materials, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with design, production, and finance departments to align purchasing decisions.
- Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for savings without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

- Strong knowledge of furniture raw materials, hardware, and accessories.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of ERP or procurement management systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in the furniture or manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of vendor development and cost optimization.
- Good in Odoo inventory management.
