Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Sourcing:Develop and implement procurement strategies for medical equipment, drugs, and administrative supplies to align with organizational goals and standards.
• Vendor Management & Negotiation:Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers. Negotiate favorable contracts, pricing, and terms to secure cost-effective deals for the hospital.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Management:Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the continuous availability of critical supplies, coordinating timely replenishment and preventing shortages.
• Interdepartmental Coordination:Liaise with various hospital departments (like surgery, administration, and nursing) to understand their specific supply needs and ensure their timely fulfillment.
• Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all procurement activities comply with hospital policies and healthcare industry regulations, such as those from NABH or JCI, for medical supplies and drugs.
• Budget Management:Monitor and manage purchasing budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Record Keeping & Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, inventory, and vendor performance, and prepare reports for senior management.
• Staff Supervision:Train and supervise procurement and store staff to ensure efficient and accurate operations within the department.

Qualifications

• Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and healthcare procurement regulations.
• Analytical skills to monitor trends and make data-driven decisions.
