Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing and executing all procurement activities related to Maize Buying with a strong focus on sourcing maize and other Seasonal Grains from reliable vendors. The ideal candidate must possess in-depth knowledge and have established relationships with reputable suppliers, and maintain a comprehensive vendor databank. This role requires strategic planning to ensure timely and cost-effective purchases during the maize season while ensuring quality and consistency across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for, particularly maize.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and farmers to ensure continuous and high-quality supply.
  • Maintain and update the vendor databank with reputable suppliers across relevant regions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Head of Purchase in Head Office to forecast material requirements and manage timely deliveries.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and seasonal availability to plan procurement in advance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports, budgets, and purchase records.
  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to support long-term sourcing goals.
  • Evaluate vendor performance periodically and take corrective actions where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with proven experience in acquiring maize (corn).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the feed mill or agriculture sector.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural commodities (especially maize) and their market dynamics.
  • Proven experience in vendor development and contract management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP procurement modules.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Lahore sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs300,000.00 per month
