Purchase Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially sharp Purchase Manager to manage procurement of construction materials across our ongoing and upcoming projects.

The role involves vendor identification, negotiation, pricing strategy, inventory coordination, and timely material procurement to ensure uninterrupted site execution — while optimizing cost and maintaining quality standards. This is a high-impact role that directly influences project profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Identify reliable dealers, distributors, and direct company suppliers for construction materials.
• Evaluate multiple material options and recommend the best fit based on quality, durability, and cost.
• Conduct negotiations to secure the most competitive pricing and favorable payment terms.
• Maintain and build long-term relationships with trusted vendors.
• Avoid unverified or unstable new market entrants unless approved after due diligence.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Strategy

• Track market prices and maintain updated rate sheets for key materials.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Negotiate bulk purchase benefits and credit terms.
• Maintain comparative statements and vendor performance analysis.

Inventory & Coordination

• Receive material requirements from site engineers and project teams.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery as per execution schedule.
• Prevent stock shortages or over-ordering.
• Coordinate with accounts for billing verification and payment processing.
• Monitor delivery timelines to avoid project delays.

Market Intelligence

• Stay updated on pricing trends, supply chain movements, and material innovations.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality consistency and reliability.
• Maintain updated vendor database and documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Graduate (mandatory).
• Experience: 3–5 years in construction procurement, purchase management, or material sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, market pricing, and vendor ecosystem.
• Strong negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (comparative sheets, cost analysis), documentation, and email communication.
• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Willingness to travel locally for vendor visits and market evaluation.
• Must own a two-wheeler with valid driving license.
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and commercially driven.
