Job Summary:

The Purchase Officer – Food and Vegetables is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing fresh produce and food items required by the organization. The role involves maintaining quality standards, ensuring timely deliveries, and building relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and reliable procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable food items from reliable vendors.
• Identify new suppliers and maintain a strong supplier base with competitive pricing and high-quality standards.
• Monitor market trends, seasonal availability, and price fluctuations of produce to plan procurement efficiently.
• Conduct price negotiations and manage procurement budgets effectively.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to maintain optimal inventory levels without overstocking or understocking.
• Inspect quality and freshness of items delivered and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure proper storage and distribution.
• Assist in periodic audits and stock reconciliations.
• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.

Requirements:

· Graduate or Masters Agriculture or Agri Sciences

· Minimum 2–4 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in the food or hospitality industry.

· Strong knowledge of food and vegetable products, grading standards, and seasonal availability.

Skills:

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

· Experience working with wholesale markets or direct farm sourcing.

· Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

· Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per month
