Role Overview: This role focuses on the analytical and market research aspects of sourcing and managing floral products. It involves close coordination with suppliers, precise order processing, and quality control, with a strong emphasis on market analysis, price tracking, and competitive insights. The goal is to maintain optimal inventory levels and keep the organisation competitive by identifying market trends and opportunities.


Job Description:

  • Sourcing and Procurement:

Identify and source a diverse range of flowers from reputable suppliers in assigned territory.

Negotiate favourable terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

  • Quality Control:

Conduct thorough inspections of incoming flower shipments to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues promptly.

  • Market Research:

Stay informed about market trends, new flower varieties, and industry developments in assigned territory.

Evaluate and recommend new suppliers and products to enhance our product offerings.

  • Supplier Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with flower suppliers in Kenya.

Collaborate with suppliers to optimise processes and address any challenges.

  • Logistics Coordination:

Work closely with logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of flowers from Kenya to our facilities.

Manage import/export documentation and compliance with international regulations.

  • Cost Analysis:

Analyse and report on the cost-effectiveness of sourcing flowers from Kenya.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Inventory Management:

Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain optimal stock levels.

Monitor and manage inventory turnover, minimising wastage.

  • Market Trends and Forecasting:

Monitor market trends and analyse demand patterns to forecast future purchasing needs.

Ensure adequate stock levels to meet seasonal demands.


Qualification and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Previous experience in purchasing field, preferably with exposure to floral items or perishable goods preferred.


Core Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.

Language : Russian speaking is preferred.
