Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Identify and source raw materials, parts, components, and services required for vehicle manufacturing, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid stockouts and production delays.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Evaluate, select, and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve the best value for the company.
- Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Address and resolve issues with suppliers, such as late deliveries or quality discrepancies.
- Cost and Quality Control:
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends, pricing, and new technologies.
- Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Work closely with the quality control and engineering departments to ensure all purchased materials and components comply with company standards and specifications.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all purchase transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
- Generate reports on purchasing activities, including spending, savings, and supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast needs and align purchasing strategies with production schedules.
- Participate in new product development meetings to provide input on material sourcing and costs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Purchaser, Buyer, or in a similar role, preferably within the automotive, manufacturing, or a related heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and supplier management.
